The Irish Centre for Faith and Culture at Saint Patrick's College Maynooth invites you to a One Day Symposium on 3 March 2011.

The conference will begin at 1.15pm in Renehan Hall. Number of places available is limited so advance registration is required, Cost € 20 (Supper included).

Speaker Profiles:

Prof Richard Kearney holds the Charles B Seelig Chair of Philosophy at Boston College and has served as a Visiting Professor at University College Dublin, the University of Paris (Sorbonne) and the University of Nice. Recent publications include: On Stories; The God Who May Be; and Strangers, Gods, and Monsters; Anatheism: Returning to God after God

Prof Grace Davie is the Professor of Sociology at the University of Exeter. She is a specialist in the sociology of religion, with a particular emphasis on patterns of religion in Europe. Her publications include Religion in Britain since 1945: Believing without Belonging.

Prof Patricia Casey is Professor of Psychiatry at Department of Psychiatry, UCD and the Mater Misericordiae Hospital. Her research interests include personality disorder and suicide. She is Editor of the Psychiatric Bulletin.

Prof Michael A Conway is Professor of Faith and Culture at Saint Patrick’s College, Maynooth. He is the current Director of the Irish Centre for Faith and Culture. He is a specialist in the thought of Maurice Blondel.

Schola Hyberniae is a female ensemble specializing in plainchant and early polyphony. The group has a particular interest in music from Irish manuscripts.
