Maynooth College, as well as being itself an institution with a long and fascinating history, is located in an area rich in historical associations which repay investigation by both the serious student and the passing visitor.

The town of Maynooth is situated north County Kildare, close to the borders of Counties Dublin and Meath. It is 15 miles/25 km. west of Dublin city centre, just off the N4/M4, the main Dublin to Galway road.

Today, Maynooth preserves much of its rural ambience and provides easy access to large tracts of peaceful countryside. At the same time, it is within easy reach of the Dublin and is close to the high-technology industrial parks on the western edge of the city. It is home to a vibrant local community and offers students and others abundant opportunities to enjoy a busy and varied social life.
