The Maynooth Alumni Ball 2009 was a sellout, with 250 alumni and friends returning to Pugin Hall for a reception and banquet, followed by dancing until the small hours.

The two President's were there, Monsignor Hugh Connolly welcomed all the alumni, many from the special years of 1979 and 1989, while President John Hughes awarded special recognition to Minister Mary Hanafin and Niall Crowley.

Ms Collette Scully, Pontifical University Office, Monsignor Hugh Connolly President and Ms Sandra Norgrove, Admissions Officer.

Minister Mary Hanafin met up with several of her classmates from 1979.

Many of the alumni extended their enjoyment of the day by staying overnight in the College accommodation.

Ms Marie-Therese Kilmartin, Dr Suzanne Mulligan, Dr Máire Byrne & Ms Catherine Fox returned for the celebration.

The President of Saint Patrick's College, Monsignor Hugh Connolly and Ms Margaret Tyrrell who has been the anchor in the Pontifical University Office for many years.

Margaret is planning to retire this year, and she will be remembered fondly by many of our alumni.
