Patristic Symposium launches three volumes

The Patristics Symposium is a group of scholars from various universities and institutes in Ireland. They meet several times annually in St Patrick's College Maynooth. The aim of the symposium is to stimulate discussion on the Fathers of the Church and the world of late antiquity.

From the beginnings the Symposium has been ecumenical and inter-disciplinary in its approach to the Fathers. It organises larger conferences every three years. The Eighth Maynooth Patristic Conference will be held in 2012 and will have as its theme The Beauty of God's Presence.

The collected papers of the Fifth, Sixth and Seventh Conferences will be launched by Most Rev Dr Diarmuid Martin on Wednesday, 24 November 2010 at 7.30 p.m. in Renehan Hall.
