Biography:
Priest of the Diocese of Dromore, ordained in 1987. Undergraduate studies Saint Patrick’s College, Maynooth BA (Hons) (NUI, 1983); BD (Hons) (Pontifical University, 1986); Postgraduate Studies: Gregorian University, Rome 1987 - 88; Licentiate in Theology (1988); Doctorate in Theology DD (1991).

Executive Secretary Irish Catholic Bishops’ Conference (June 1991 – October 1997 [2 three-year terms]); Secretary and Member of Inter-Church Standing Committee On Mixed Marriages (1991-1997); Lecturer in Moral Theology, Pontifical University, Maynooth (October 1997), appointed Professor in January 2007.   Member Conseil d’Administration, College des Irlandais, Paris (1997 - 2007); Vice-President St Patrick’s College Maynooth (1999 - 2007); Treasurer, Maynooth Union, June (1999 - 2007); Secretary and Member of Maynooth College Finance Committee (1999 - 2007); Registrar, Pontifical University, Maynooth (2001 - 2006); President St Patrick’s College Maynooth (1st September 2007 - present).
