Biography:
Priest of the Diocese of Down and Connor, ordained in 1975. Undergraduate studies in Belfast (QUB) and Maynooth; graduate studies at Oxford. Has taught Dogmatic Theology in Maynooth since 1982. Co-ordinator of the Erasmus Programme for the Faculty of Theology, SPCM, since 1993. Review Editor of Irish Theological Quarterly (1997-2007); acting Editor of Irish Theological Quarterly (2000-2001).

Research Interests:

  • The modern God-question
  • Nineteenth-century German Protestant Theology
  • The history of the Christian mystical tradition
