Biography:
Myles Rearden is a Vincentian priest. He was born in Cork City in 1939, and educated there at Christian Brothers College and later at St. Vincent’s, Castleknock, Dublin. In 1957 he joined the Congregation of the Mission, and was ordained in 1965. He taught philosophy and was engaged in formation in seminaries in Ireland and Nigeria until 1989, having studied at U.C.D., Oxford and Rome. Since then he has worked as a spiritual director at Maynooth and, for five years from 1995 to 2000, in Tanzania. His publications include You are Mine: a view of the spiritual life (Columba 1994) and a translation of Bernard Peyrous’s Guidebook to the Spiritual Life: how should one live with God? (Columba 2004). He is interested in ecumenism, work for social justice, and maintaining the archives of his congregation.
