Some highlights of 2010:

Ordinations to the Priesthood 2010:
Six students from St Patrick’s College, Maynooth are being ordained to the priesthood in 2010. These ordinations are currently taking place in dioceses throughout the country,with one ceremony in Glasgow, Scotland.

The Gospel of Luke by Reverend Michael Mullins
23rd June 2010

Fr Michael Mullins, former Professor of Sacred Scripture at Saint Patrick's College, Maynooth, has completed his fourth commentary on the Evangelists.
Entitled The Gospel of Luke it was launched in Ballybricken, Waterford where Fr Mullins is now Parish Priest.

The Linacre Centre for Healthcare Ethics is holding a two-day conference in St Patrick's College, Maynooth on Fertility, Infertility & Gender.
15th June 2010: Cardinal Cormac Murphy-O'Connor addressed the MaynoothUnion in the closing ceremony of the Year for Priests
In his wide ranging address, the Cardinal spoke about: His own Irish roots;
The impact of the Celtic Tiger;
The scandal of abuse;
Being a wounded healer;
The Road to Emmaus;
The ‘dark night’ of the Church in Ireland; The way forward; No magic formula;
A need for conversion of heart, newness of attitudes and unstinted love; Pope Benedict XVI’s letter to the Church in Ireland;
Not hurrying;
The Mass - the source of unity, strength and hope;
Communion with our people;
Real participative leadership;
Not being afraid;

Cardinal Brady presents icons to the Diamond Jubilarians

15 June 2010: Maynooth Union celebration
Members of the jubilee classes of 1950, 1960 and 1985 are particularly welcome. Cardinal Cormac Murphy O'Connor will be the guest speaker at our Union celebrations in this Year for Priests. The Ordination Class of 1950 is illustrated, whose members celebrate their diamond jubilee.

The Maynooth Alumni Association honoured two of the College's most luminous former students at the annual Alumni Ball on 12 June 2010. Ireland’s Deputy Permanent Representative to the EU, Ambassador Geraldine Byrne Nason received the President’s Alumni Award for 2010, while Mary O’Rourke TD was named as the inaugural member of the “Made in Maynooth” alumni hall of fame.

The President of St Patrick’s College Maynooth, Monsignor Hugh Connolly, has welcomed the nomination of Archbishop Timothy Dolan of New York as Apostolic Visitor to Irish Seminaries and Houses of Formation.

30 May 2010: 
Ordination to Diaconate
It takes up to six years of formation in human, spiritual, pastoral and academic fields for candidates to reach Diaconate. Family and friends join them for the ceremony in the College Chapel, making this day the highlight of the Seminary year.

Seminary Open-Day at St Patrick's College, Maynooth
Following the very successful OPEN DAY last year, the National Seminary at Maynooth will hold another OPEN DAY on Vocations Sunday. This will take place on Sunday 25th April 2010. Men seeking to discern a vocation to the Catholic Priesthood are welcome where they can meet with the current seminarians and staff, and partake in the life of the College.

The Irish Chamber Choir of Paris
Newsflash: 19 April 2010
Due to the Icelandic Volcanic Ash in our skies, the Irish Chamber Choir of Paris will not be able to travel to Ireland this week. Hence the programme which was to take place in the College Chapel at Maynooth on Friday has been cancelled. We sincerely hope that the programme can be rescheduled, and will take place at another time.

Maynooth College Collection receives gift from the FNCI
An Eviction - a gift to the Maynooth College Collection from the Friends of the National Collections of Ireland. The painting was presented by Dr John Turpin, President of the FNCI in the company of members of the Council.
The painting further enhances the College's collection, and it is hoped it will inspire others to contribute works and help to build the Maynooth College Collection.

Sigerson Cup hosted by Maynooth
Students, faculty and staff of Saint Patrick's College wish the Maynooth team every succes. Maynooth will play DCU in the semi-final on Friday 26th February and the final will be held in Leixlip GAA-Club on Saturday, 27th February. The last time the cup was claimed by Maynooth was when Saint Patrick's College took the honours in 1976.
