Professor Roger Scruton is Resident Scholar at the American Enterprise Institute, and Visiting Professor of Philosophy at Oxford University. He is author of more than forty books on philosophy, culture and politics, the most recent of which include:

• The Uses of Pessimism, Atlantic, 2010

Professor Scruton is also a columnist with the American Spectator magazine, an accomplished composer and a regular broadcaster. He was formerly Professor of Philosophy at Birkbeck College and at Boston University.
