The Maynooth Alumni Ball brought the gunas, black ties and laughter back to the spacious cloisters of the College on a beautiful evening in Maynooth, 11th June 2011.
The reception spilled out into the two squares from the cloister, and the banquet in Pugin Hall was followed by dancing until late.

PJ Gannon, Carmel Gannon, Sr Frances Crowe.
Specially featured were the alumni of 1971, the year the first lay graduates emerged with degrees in Arts and Science following the opening of the University at St Patrick's College in 1966. Prior to that, only seminarians and priests studied within the walls of the College, and while some students graduated with the Higher Diploma in Education in 1967, 1968 was the first year to admit lay students to the degree programmes in Arts and Science, and they graduated in November 1971. What a change? Today there are 8,500 students studying on campus between the Seminary, the Pontifical University and the National University of Ireland, Maynooth.

The Ball attracted alumni from across the four decades of lay graduates, and the Maynooth Alumni Ball of 2012 will focus on the years 1972, 1982, 1992 and 2002.

The Maynooth Alumni Association and the Alumni Ball are joint ventures between Saint Patrick's College and the Naional University of Ireland, Maynooth.
