Two students from Saint Patrick’s College Maynooth are being offered the opportunity
to travel to Macedonia and Kosovo with Professor Salvador Ryan
during
Saint Patrick’s week (12-19 March) 2010

Students will stay with the Missionaries of Charity in Mother Teresa’s home city of Skopje and will visit many families who live in poverty and who depend on the support of local priest Fr Mato Jakovic for the very essentials of daily life: food fuel and shelter. Fr Mato has been a tireless champion of the poor in this region for many years.

Two 1St Year BA Theology students, Maura Garrihy and Michael Curtin, have been selected to travel with Prof. Salvador Ryan on a charity mission to Macedonia and Kosovo during Reading Week (12-19 March) 2010. They will assist in the work of local priest, Fr Mato Jakovic, and the Jesuit Refugee Service, among the poorest families of the city of Skopje and its environs. In advance of their trip, Maura and Michael will embark on some fund-raising ventures, both on and off campus, with the aim of each raising a minimum of €1,000 (over and above their own airfares), which will go directly to supporting families who are most in need.
