Mona Byrne says good-bye

Mona Byrne of Maynooth CollegeAfter nearly 24 years of service, Mona Byrne has retired from the Sacristy.

Mona was known by generations of seminarians for the meticulous care she took of the linens, and for her perfection in needlework. Demonstrating an art that has nearly died out in Ireland, Mona took great pride in the appearance of the linen and cotton for the sacred vessels and the altars in the College Chapel.
