The National Centre for Liturgy will be holding a public lecture on Saturday 23 October 2010 at 11.00 am in Renehan Hall, Saint Patrick's College Maynooth, presented by John F Baldovin SJ.
John F Baldovin SJ is professor of historical and liturgical theology at Boston College School of Theology and Ministry.
After theological studies at the Gregorian University, Rome and Weston School of Theology, John completed his doctorate in Historical Theology at Yale University under the direction of Professor Aidan Kavanagh, OSB. He has taught for five years at Fordham University, New York and at the Jesuit School of Theology in Berkeley.
His most recent books include Bread of Life, Cup of Salvation: Understanding the Mass, The Urban Character of Christian Worship and Reforming the Liturgy, a response to the critics.
He is a past president of the North American Academy of Liturgy and Societas Liturgica.
