- Eucharistic Congress Symposium: 6 - 9 June 2012

Maynooth College will host a major international symposium on The Eucharist from Wednesday 6th June to Saturday 9th June 2012. This symposium is scheduled for the week before the 50th International Eucharistic Congress which will be held in Dublin from 10th to 17th June 2012. To Register click here.
- Maynooth Union Day: 29 May 2012
Save the date!
The Annual Maynooth Union Day will take place on 29th May 2012. This is a little earlier than in previous years due to the 50th International Eucharistic Congress (10th to 17th June 2012).
The Maynooth Union classes for the reunion in 2012 will include the following: 1942, 1947, 1952, 1957, 1962, 1967, 1972, 1967, 1972, 1977, 1982, 1987, 1992, 1997, 2002, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010 & 2011.
Further details and invitations will be issued in March 2012. Enquiries can be made to president@spcm.ie (please write Maynooth Union in the subject box).
- The Monsignor Patrick J. Corish Lecture: 27th March 2012
'The Sacrality of Things: An Inquiry into Divine Materiality in the Christian Middle Ages'.
Caroline Walker Bynum, Professor emerita of Medieval European History, Princeton will give this lecture in Renehan Hall, St Patrick's College, Maynooth on Tuesday 27 March 2012 at 7.30pm. All are welcome.

The Retired Staff Association NUI Maynooth and St. Patrick's College Maynooth invites you to a Public Lecture entitled "A Splendid Torch"
to be delivered by Baroness Nuala O'Loan, former Police Ombudsman in Northern Ireland and Chair of the NUI Maynooth Governing Authority on Thursday, 16 February at 3 pm (sharp), in the Board Room, John Hume Building, North Campus, NUI Maynooth.

You are invited to Renehan Hall at 7.00 pm on Monday 13th February to hear peace-maker, Archbishop John Bapist Odama of Uganda.
- Psalm Day: Saturday 11th February 2012
RSCM Ireland, in association with the National Centre for Liturgy, will host a Psalm Day in Saint Patrick's College, Maynooth, on Saturday 11th February 2012. The day will involve papers and discussions on the nature of psalmody, the history of the psalms we sing as well as highlighting the challenges facing musicians in dealing with psalms.
The Maynooth Theological Journal (MTJ) is now opening the call for papers for its third issue. The preferred length for an article is circa 2,500 words. The closing date for submissions is Monday, 5 March. Papers are to be submitted by e-mail as a Microsoft Word attachment to mtj@spcm.ie
- Blessed John Paul II Theological Society:
"Virtuous human action - an icon of God. St Thomas Aquinas’s vision of Christian morality" - Monday 6th February 2012
This talk will be given by Reverend Wojciech Giertych, O.P., Theologian of the Papal Household in the Vatican at 8pm, in Renehan Hall, St Patrick’s College Maynooth. All are welcome.
- The Ordination of two seminarians to Diaconate will take place in the College Chapel on 29th January 2012.

The ceremony will take place in the College Chapel at 11.00 a.m., and will be presided over by His Grace Most Reverend Dermot Clifford, Archbishop of Cashel. It is on this day that seminarians formalise their commitment to the Priesthood, and takes their vows of of chastity and obedience.
All are welcome.

Rebuilding the Organ is the last major project in the College Chapel
The organ has had two major rebuilds in its life, in the 1920's and in the 1970's. However, by now, a total rebuild is required
The project will take two years. Some of the ranks will be totally replaced, while others will be voiced and polished, and returned to their setting on the Gallery in the Summer of 2013.
- Maynooth Mission Outreach - Skydive!
Maynooth Mission Outreach (MMO) is teaming up with Skydive Ireland to raise money for MMO around Easter 2012. MMO will pay for your training (€250) if you commit to raise €750. Further details: http://www.skydiveireland.ie/index.php.
