On 30th May 2010, feast of the Most Holy Trinity, Most Reverend Joseph Toal, Bishop of Argyll and the Isles in Scotland, ordained eight seminarians as deacons in the College Chapel at St Patrick's College, Maynooth.

The seminarians reflect the diversity of the Maynooth tapestry, with five of the seminarians from Irish dioceses, two from Scotland and one from South Africa. The new deacons are:

Bishop Rose is an alumnus of the College, having done his post-graduate studies between 1983 and 1987 in the Pontifical University at Maynooth.
