The Pope John Paul II Theological Society will be holding their second meeting of the academic year 2010-2011 on Monday 8 November 2010 at 8pm in Renehan Hall, Saint Patrick's College Maynooth, with a presentation by Reverend Professor Thomas Norris on Faith and Reason in Blessed John Henry Newman.
Thomas J Norris is a priest of the diocese of Ossory, Ireland, and was until 2010 Professor in Systematic Theology at the Pontifical University at Maynooth. A member of the International Theological Commission for the third time, he is the author of numerous articles and books such as:

He was a founding member of the Maynooth Patristic Symposium; member at various times of Irish Episcopal Commissions for Catechetics, Ecumenism and Theology, and is currently Joint Secretary of the Irish Inter-Church Meeting. He is also a member since 1998 of the International Theological Commission.
His research interests include:
'The Theological Method; 'Faith and Reason'; 'Trinitarian Ontology'; 'Philosophy and Theology of Education'; 'Cardinal Newman’s Theology of the Cross'.
He has many publications including: 'Cardinal Newman for Today'; 'The Trinity: Life of God and Hope for Humanity'; and 'The Beauty of Christ. An Introduction to the Theology of Hans Urs von Balthasar'. His other interests include: 'Pastoral Care of Young People'; 'Linking Theology and Daily Living'; and 'New Ecclesial Movements'.
