The Department of History of NUI Maynooth is delighted to welcome Rev Dr Neil Collins, author of the recently-published history of the Missionary Society of St Columban, 1916-1954, entitled The Splendid Cause (Dublin: Columba Press, 2009).

Fr Collins will deliver a special lecture to the NUIM elective course Mission History and Ireland, HY289, and to others who may be interested in this important part of the history of St Patrick’s College and of NUI Maynooth.

Published last year, The Splendid Cause was launched in St Patrick's College, Maynooth by the President, Monsignor Hugh Connolly on Monday, 20th April 2009.
