Registration and Orientation

Congratulations on accepting a place in the Pontifical University, St Patrick’s College,Maynooth. Starting a degree can feel overwhelming. There is so much information provided to you, our new students, that it is easy to get lost along the way. Below are details for Orientation and Registration. We are looking forward to seeing you.

An Orientation session for your programme of study will run during the opening week of the new academic year.

You're expected to attend this important event, as you will:

  • Meet the academic staff for your programme
  • Find out about the course content and structure
  • Find out about your modules
  • Meet other students on your course
  • Learn about Moodle and how to access course materials

Information on where and when induction takes place for your programme is listed in your welcome notification, or will be available below.

If no timetable is shown for your programme, please contact the Pontifical University Office.

Registration for all students will take place on the week of Monday 17th. Please refer to the purple- coloured Orientation/Registration timetable that you would have received in the post.

Once you register you will be a student of the Pontifical University, even though you will be taking your Arts subjects in Maynooth University. The Pontifical University and Maynooth University share the same campus and facilities.

Please note: The week before lectures begin (17th – 21st September), there will be a skeleton service of the private buses serving Maynooth, arriving at Maynooth at approximately 8.50am and leaving Maynooth at 5pm (see appendices in the Student Handbook for details on the private bus services).

Undergraduate

Welcome to the Pontifical University at St Patrick's College, Maynooth. If you are joining us for the first time, congratulations on your success. If you are continuing with your studies, we wish you well for your continued journey.

Orientation will take place on Monday 17th September and on Wednesday 19th September for ALL Theology students (BATh and BTh) in the Pontifical University (see page 1 of purple-coloured Orientation/Registration timetable).

All Theology students are in Group 22. Group 22 has been subdivided into 23a, 23b, 23c etc. Please take note of the sub-group to which you are assigned (see page 2 of the purple- coloured Orientation/Registration timetable).

Registration will take place on Tuesday 18th September in the Pontifical University (see page 2 of purple-coloured Orientation/Registration timetable).

Once you register you will be a student of the Pontifical University, even though you will be taking your Arts subjects in Maynooth University. The Pontifical University and Maynooth University share the same campus and facilities. You will receive details regarding how to register your Arts modules online with Maynooth University via a separate email.

For the payment of fees, please go to https://pay.maynoothcollege.ie, using your email address and CAO number to log on. For any queries about this process, please contact Accounts at 01 708 4751 / accounts@spcm.ie.

Postgraduate

If you are joining one of our postgraduate programmes, you are welcome to the Pontifical University at St Patrick's College, Maynooth. There is much to prepare. Check the orientation week that will introduce to some of the basics needed to succeed in the next stage of your study.

Pastoral Leadership Programmes

If you are joining one of our Pastoral Theology programmes, you are welcome to the Pontifical University at St Patrick's College, Maynooth. Orientation includes important information about academic modules and placement, registration, Safeguarding training, and an off-campus retreat.
